Hey in fact I also heard that the government is actively considering LRTS for ITIR areas connecting Miyapur and Shilparamam.
Asif Khan

2
But the BRTS idea was abandoned quickly, because this system hasnt performed that well overall in Delhi and Pune.
Savitha Devulapally

3
There was a Comprehensive Transportation Study (CTS) for Hyderabad Metropolitan Area prepared by LEA International Ltd that suggested LRTS/BRTS for 393 km especially along the Outer Ring Road.
Vijay Krishna Koneru

4
Yes, the metro wasnt an option for those places. It would have costed a ton, and the light rail can be much easily completed within this year end, unlike the metro.
Shiva Kumar

5
I personally think that this is a good call, since metro rail connectivity cannot be extended to these IT areas like Gachibowli, Financial District, Rayadurg, Miyapur and ISB areas. So something was needed. The LRTS is a good option
Sriram Gowda

6
Yeah, it will have two to three cars with a carrying capacity of 25,000 to 30,000 passengers per hour per direction,
Suresh Kota

7
Basically this LRTS is a medium capacity mode of mass rapid transport that straddles between the heavy capacity metro rail and the low capacity bus services.
Kamala Reddy

8
Now the IT hubs in both Shamshabad and Uppal are going to developed to be on the same level as the Cyberabad IT hub.
Nakul Rao

9
Yeah and the committee has already given their approval to this project. But guys can anyone explain to me exactly what this LRTS is? Im not entirely sure.
Krishna Rao

10
A committee was also appointed for this project - comprising principal secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), metropolitan commissioner of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and secretary of Information Technology and Communications (IT&C) department
Ramesh Gullapalli

11
The development plans for the light rail are expected to be ready by Nov 2014
Kamat Reddy

12
This will be mainly to connect the metro rail stations in Miyapur and Shilparamam to the IT hubs.
Ashwin Aysola

13
Oh yes, youve heard of it too! the Telangana government is now mulling a Light Rail Transit System (LRTS) for the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR).
