Ive heard about some kind of awareness campaign that is going to happen in all the different zones. Yeah the committee has only asked the engineers and assistant commissioners of the zonal offices to do this.

I think the MCC really want us to implement this new thing. Thats why they have decided to start the campaign by the MCC setting an example and installing rainwater harvesting systems at its offices

Best thing is that these rainwater harvesting systems can be set up even in existing houses besides under construction buildings,

Actually its a good idea. Instead of letting rainwater go waste, we can harvest water collected on the rooftop and store it in a pit for further use.

In fact these rainwater harvesting systems can be done even for smaller dimension plots. The system does not require large space. A 4 feet x 4 feet space is enough.

The standing committee president has asked the MCC not to issue completion reports (CRs) to owners of such houses or buildings who have not gone in for harvesting rainwater

It is actually mandatory. Not for all properties, but for those built on 40 ft x 60 ft plots.

Yes I heard that the Standing Committee on Town Planning and Development of the Mysore City Corporation (MCC) has resolved to place before the MCC council a proposal for giving concession in monthly water bills to households and establishments that go in for rainwater harvesting

I also heard that the MCC are going to be taking certain measures to ensure that more people are accepting this rainwater harvesting systems in their household. It will definitely take a load off their shoulders as well, if all the water supply needs werent dependent on the few water sources that we have in Mysore city.

See it will be useful to you only. You can save up the water during the monsoon, and use it during a sdry spell. Or when the water supply is low.

You dont need to. I mean there is no compulsion, but you'll see that if you do then there will be a lot of benefits later on. So its is advisable to do so.
