Hi, No one can do anything to unscrupulous Builders. No amount of precaution can save you. Government and Banks joins the builders to swindle the common man. Nothing, just nothing can be done. Isolated cases of justice are exceptions. Rule is to get cheated by Builders/Bankers/Government.
Right Gaurav,
The buyer should register the agreement. The court will throw out your case if the agreement is not registered. Allotment letter alone won't help you out in courts. Somehow all the agreements are in favor of the builders. Take utmost care when dealing with such issues.

And recently, government of India has set up a Real Estate Regulatory Authority to protect consumer interests. Approach the authority for speedy adjudication of your disputes with the real estate developer.
