I personally have to travel over the Chitrapuzha bridge on Seaport-Airport Road, and its in such a bad condition yaar! But thank goodness the RBDCK started resurfacing work on this bridge.

No the PWD are also doing the needful. They have begun repairing Vyttila-Pettah Road, Kakkanad-Athani Road, Edappally-Muvattupuzha Road, Aluva-Perumbavur Road and approach roads to Mattancherry BOT bridge.

As of now, I see only the DMRC doing anything about this issue. Their contractors have intensified repair works in the Aluva-Kadavanthra corridor where civil works are on, after the agency’s principal advisor E. Sreedharan fixed September 17 as the deadline.

Funny thing is, even though toll collection has resumed at NHAI’s Kumbalam toll booth, officials of the agency are tight lipped on when and how potholes on Edapally-Aroor NH 47 Bypass will be filled.

Oh I know! Commuting through Kumbalam bridge continues to be a nightmare for us, while intermittent potholes on the Bypass force motorists to slow down or swerve suddenly to avoid them.

From my own knowledge, Kochi Corporation is yet to restore damaged parts of S.A. Road and its shoulder, which were dug up by KWA for laying pipelines. The situation is worst in the Kadavanthra-Vyttila stretch.

The worst thing is all these agencies are making lame excuses like possible audit objections and pipeline works scheduled later this year for their lack of action. Obviously commuters are getting annoyed, they are demanding prompt and proper restoration of the road to reduce traffic snarls and accidents near the bridge and at other places.

Guys GCDA has just filled a few potholes over Kathrikadavu bridge, so many battered parts on Kaloor-Kadavanthra Road - it has done nothing to fix them yet.
Smitha Ravi

Dude no. Even after expiry of two deadlines set by State Government and District Collector M.G. Rajamanickam, the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA), Kochi Corporation and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) have not sped up repair works.
Aadesh Chacko

Actually now that its not raining like mad anymore, most civic agencies and the DMRC have resumed repair of damaged roads in the city
