Some links on internet suggests that authority has planned a Sewer Treatment plant and cremation ground in Sec-123 which is not too far from this project.
This STP is expected to have a bad impact on this project, anyone has any idea regarding same?
I visited the site on Wednesday and figured out that STP/SLF is already in place. Although it might not be functioning, as mentioned by someone that a court case is already going on for same.
Apart from this it is also mentioned by someone on internet that authority has plans to create a cremation ground around same are.
Hi Manu, Yes you are right. I too saw the news and i came to know that Noida authority is building a landfill (SLF) or waste-to- energy processing plant in Sector 123. People are not happy because thousand of like are in stake. This plant is very near to five Schools including play schools, residential sectors & highly populated villages of Noida. This plant will produce 1500 metric tons of waste everyday which will create unhealthy atmosphere for everyone.
Yes Mr Pathak , I too agree with you. I came to know that construction has already started without any environmental impact assessment & mandatory approvals from competent authorities. Even most shocking thing is authority is denying any ongoing construction, even when the construction is clearly visible to everyone.
As per my knowledge, the National Green Tribunal has stayed construction activity on the landfill site in Sector 123 here after a commission appointed by it found that the project had been formulated without following the guidelines. The Noida Authority has also been restrained from carrying out digging or construction till the next hearing.
The commission found that the Authority had started construction on the site without obtaining the mandatory approval from Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB). Habitations, including villages, residential sectors and ongoing housing projects, were found to be in proximity to the site on all sides in clear violation of the norms.
Hi Guys, I heard that a petition had been filed by Go Green Welfare Association, a Noida-based organization of residents and home buyers. Advocate Sumeer Sodhi had been appointed as commissioner by the tribunal. The report was prepared after Sodhi inspected the site on May 25 in the presence of senior Authority officials, including project engineers and the health department officials, UPPCB officials and representatives of the residents' association.
