Q: I bought a home in Bangalore & had registered it on my parents name. My father expired recently. My name is not in the property, and I am an NRI living in USA. Can someone Please help clarify:

If you are the only son then there is no problem in transferring property in your name , take legal advise and proceed . In case if there is any more heirs in class I then u have to follow property transfer according to rule set by The Hindu Succession Act, 1956.
It seems you want to transfer the property on your name. Is there a will of your father and if not then you along with legal heirs of your father has right in the property of your father. Elaborate your query to advice you in detail.
