Q: Heard a lot of hype about the upcoming Indore metro. What all are they implementing under this project. I want to invest in property in this city. Can you guys tell me which parts will bring in the highest returns, as a direct outcome of the Indore metro project
I know that the the consultant for metro projects in both Indore and Bhopal, has recommended the driverless model after a topographical survey carried out earlier. However, a final decision on whether the system will be fully automated or not will be taken after the financial plan is submitted.
The Indore metro will have both direct stops, depots as well as indirect land requirements. But, perhaps given the sensitive nature of the subject, consultants are wary of divulging details about how much land will have to be acquired
Yes I heard that a team of consultants has been stationed in Indore since the beginning of the month studying the alignment to determine how the routes will be constructed i.e. subterranean or elevated. They are the ones who came up with the plan.
Ive heard that around 15% of the total metro network, most of it in the core area, will be underground while the remaining portion in Indore is likely to be elevated. The portion on the outskirts is likely to be on-ground
The route construction is still being finalised and they're looking into both technical and commercial aspects. The final routes would depend not just on ridership but also available right of way and several other factors. I think you should wait for the final routes before taking this decision.
Well its for sure that the system will have approximately 80 stops, roughly one stop every 800 metres. From a real estate POV, any of those 80 spots is going to be prime investment zones. Even the ones close by are going to benefit.
Some lines will overlap and for those same infrastructure will be used. Although some routes would, on the face of it, appear to be prime candidates for inclusion in the first phase due to anticipated passenger load. I'd advise you to find those out and target those prime routes for your investment
But there are some rough estimates available in the market right? For instance he total network length of the Indore metro will be somewhere around 88 km. Oh and the average speed will supposedly be in the range of 35-40 kilometre per hour.
Those are still the propositions. The detailed project report or the DPR is still being prepared. We wont know anything for sure until its finishsed and we can take a look at it.
Yeah the meaning of the flexi network is that there will be lots of interconnecting lines, which keep switching between their routes acc to a timetable to facilitate the travelling by the metro. Obviously that will lighten the load on any one particular train, dont you guys think so?
Well the plan is to implement the construction of the Indore metro project in a phase-wise manner. I read somewhere that they are inteding to build a flexi-network allowing operation at considerably below maximum capacity.
