MUDA action for high rise zones in Mysore

Q: Hi. I have been living in Mysore for over 10 years now. I have seen a lot of issues rising with existing infrastructure as the apartments go up. Does anyone have the details about the MUDA plans for this?

I live in one such locality. V V Mohalla. There are new residential projects cropping up and as a result the water pressure has reduced in our homes. But some authority from the Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) has assured that new pipes will belaid down with higher diameter to solve this issue.

Yes yes. I read recently in the news. It is called infrastructure stress. For example, when the water supply was planned only for independent row houses, the estimate of water intake for a particular house area was fixed. But when apartments and high rise buildings started coming up, that intake increased. This led to improper water supply in neighbouring row houses.

Hello Sir. I completely agree with you viewpoint. It is true that the current housing infrastructure and facilities are getting affected by the increase in apartments and residential complexes. The Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) is not the only one who needs to take action. The city in itself is seeing a change to high rise zones.

Yeah. Basically, the facilities are different when it comes to row houses and apartments. Earlier many places in Mysore were supposed to have row houses. And the different bodies like MUDA and MMC (Mysore Municipal Corporation) planned out the infrastructure accordingly. It is now backfiring in some sense.
