When will Kochi Smart City be completed?

Q: I invested ages ago in Kochi. Have been waiting for ages for the smart city project to finally be completed so that I can sell my property. But it keeps getting delayes. Has there been any final news on this guys? When can we expect it to be completely ready?

Yes, other than that, works for the supply of receiving and distribution of power, water, street lighting, data and communication connectivity are also going on. If they can keep this progress up, then most of the supporting infrastructure will be ready by the time the entire project is ready 4-5 years from now.

Yes the entire project wont be done so soon. That date is set for 2020. Only the first phase is going to be ready by 2015. But I think even that might prove to be a good time to sell off your investment, no need to wait till 2020

So far, the infrastructure development of the smart city has been phased in such a way that the plots in the processing and non-processing zones of the SEZ are provided with road connectivity, power, water and communication as per the master plan

Actually they are constructing the 70% of the roads required for the entire project, not just the first phase. They want to get done with all the basic infrastructure of all the phases of the project within the first phase itself.

Yes the Kochi smart city project will be done soon, by mid next year. Actually the prob was that it was stuck in a lot of environmental clearance issues, which got approved only very recently. But now the work has started and the road constructions are back on track again.

They have actually even set a date for completion, they are targetting for July of 2015. By that time they are hoping to have finished the construction work of at least 70% of the roads required for the first phase.
