Hi Anand, State Highway Department is very aggressively working in this plan and layout is already developed by authorities , now this is the time to wait and watch for implementation process. as per my knowledge this location is very good for investment and may be authorities come up with new ideas.
Hi,
As per my knowledge, the highway road projects, worth around Rs 320 crore, are waiting approval from the government. High way authority are close to completing DPRs (detailed project reports) for these projects and expect to complete them in a month. This project will give a different look to Chennai infrastructure.
Hi Kiran,
According to me, among the big projects awaiting government approval are a Rs 125-crore grade separator over the Medavakkam-Mambakkam junction, a Rs 30-crore bridge in Nolambur and a Rs 60-crore grade separator in Kilkattalai.
Hi Kiran,
As per my knowledge, a detailed project report usually costs about 1% of the project. The DPRs will have the final alignment, cost of the project and area of land that has to be acquired. The government will give us financial approval based on the DPRs, after which we will float tenders.
Hi,
The department is also working on projects to deal with the large increase in traffic in the south of the city. A Rs 60-crore flyover on 200 Feet Road, connecting Pallavaram and Thoraipakkam, will complement the link road that connects ECR and OMR that the state highways department will lay. The 1.4km road will connect Neelankarai on East Coast Road and Thoraipakkam on Old Mahabalipuram Road.
@ Kiran,
Corporation of Chennai is now focusing on the needs of pedestrians but the highways department has faced criticism for several flyovers that are pedestrian-unfriendly. The department has built flyovers in Anna Nagar, Porur and Thirumangalam and plans others in Velachery, on ECR and OMR and in Thiruvanmiyur, at a cost of several thousand crore rupees.
In my point of view, in Nolambur, however, there is no doubt about the infrastructure that residents require. The bridge over the Cooum is a lifeline for the locality but it has fallen into disrepair. The bridge that now connects Nolambur and Poonamallee High Road is in very bad condition. People cannot use it. A new bridge will make commuting much easier.
