Information on Indian Railways direct train project from Mysore to Varanasi
Q: Hi guys, I read something about an imminent railway project that would directly connect Mysore and Varanasi. What's the juice on this one? ANyone knows?
Yes. Supposedly there are two trains released for this initiative. While one tran leaves on Tuesday, the other leaves on Thursday reaching the final destination in Varanasi on Thursday and Saturday respectively which is great as there are a lot of retired people around here in Mysore and their journey has been shortened.
The journey time from Mysore to Varanasi and Vice versa will be 52 hours exaclty which is just more than two days. The train that leaves here will pass through Bengaluru, Mandya, Tumkur, Yashwantpur, Bellary, Raichur and Gulbarga and other places.
This is great news indeed. The train service was flagged off on the 25th of December. The whole idea was to give the people of Mysore and nearby areas an easy access to the holy place of Varanasi to do rath yattras.
Hello there. I heard the news too. According to a leading newspaper this service has already started. Mysore will have a bi- weekly train that will go to and fro from Mysore to Varanasi. This is great news because, it was tough for the people of mysore earlier to go through with it as their journeys were longer.
