There are high expectations that the budget will introduce a single tax system in the form of the Goods and Service tax (GST) doing away with the multiple tax-level system where there were different levels of taxation like service tax, VAT as well as stamp duty and registration charges.

This union budget 2015-16, Developers and property buyers have their own expectations. Real estate experts say there is expectations like Real Estate Regulatory bill and single taxation on property purchase. To make the property purchase affordable, indirect taxes should not be applicable on residential houses and eliminate multiple taxation on property purchase. Hope, this budget will introduce the single tax system and steps to promote affordable housing.

At present, home buyers need to pay service tax, VAT as well as stamp duty while buying a property. The Government should ensure the quick passage of Goods and Service Tax which will replace numerous taxes and help the consumers.
