I have heard from a few the city governing party official friends of mine. He has said that most of the projects were delayed because the senior officials were no where to be found when the projects were being handled.

The Officials are now saying that the proposals for bus stands at Vadavalli, Kavundampalayam and Vellalore and laying hockey turf and service roads were sanctioned but awaited funds. These projects are in the final stages but there are not to blame this time. It is the state government for not providing the funds.

Many other projects such as the renovation of the Singanallur boat house and laying roads and storm water drains have been completed but are awaiting the presence of the mayor P Rajkumar and the local administration minister for its inauguraton.

Some of the projects that are stuck are construction of bus stands at Vadavalli and Kavundampalayam proposed in 2011, scientific capping of Vellalore dump yard to be completed in 2013, laying service roads at Nanjundapuram and shifting of temples and street hawkers from Gandhipuram to construct a flyover whose initial deadline was Janauary 2015.

Projects to be implemented by the city corporation will commence only after the state government sanctions the funds required, for them, Till then nothing can be done. I think the state government must take notice on this and start working.

Hey. Do you know the extent of carelessness and uselessness of the civic body here. The master plan must have been ready and operational four years ago but due to delays and innefficiency of the officers nothing "concrete" has been arrived at.

But you see it is still in the same stage. The plan is now in the Bharathidasan University and according to an official from the Local Planning Authrity, they are supposed to get a revsed master plan from there.

There was also this big plan that would supposedly change the city of coimbatore. It was the over hyped Master Plan which was supposed to be in place by January through which development and expansions should have been planned.

Oh. These corporators and councillors. I will tell you why they could not complete. They were playing politics and making merry. FIrst it was the Srirangam bypoll and then it was Jayalalithaa's birthday. It's like they do everythiing except their jobs.

The Coimbatore corporation and district administration have started a new swansong saying that there was a shortage of senior officers and staffs which is the reason for the delay. It is as though they always have a reason ready to blurt out.

You know there were a lot of projects that were supposed to cstart in January which have not started as yet while there are a lot others which were expected to be completed in January but still have not been due to unknown reasons.
Rajeev Srinivasan

Well, actually there are a lot of them but the sad new is none of the projects have even started. And you know the worst part is the deadlines are all nearing but not even a stone has been laid towards the projects.
Manikandan Swami

Hello. Do you know when all these projects were supposed to be completed?
