Yeah..wasnt it. I heard that proposals to the tune of Rs. 491-crore had been submitted to the Chief Minister to upgrade the hospital infrastructure under the Mysore Medical College and Research Institute and develop new facilities keeping in view the demands of public healthcare.
Actually, the thing that has happened is that the authorities were self assured the the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would grand funds for the medical sector. But, that did not happen. I think that there has been a communication gap as the proposal had been presented much earlier.
I think there are not much attention given to the health sector in this budget. There are no major grants that are given in this regard also. The proposal by the Department of Medical Education to revamp the public healthcare infrastructure under its control in Mysuru has failed to get sanction in the State Budget
Oh...Is that true? What is the reason for this? Why couldnt they get funds for the health sector which is very important especially after the outbreak of H1N1 and all.
