details about worsening conditions of roads in Coimbatore

Q: Hey, i travel a lot around the city for my job, and noticed to my surprise that roads in many parts of the city are in a very bad condition. Can you please tell me about the same?

I think most highways in Coimbatore is in really good condition...

Hi, road and connectivity is going hand on hand development in construction sector so we can't say that all road in coimbatore are bad, agreed that some location road maintenance is not going on . so it is better that highlight this issue with local authority he will take care of this matter.

In the next couple of weeks the civic body would take up work for another 9.6km at Rs. 3.78 crore and it would take up work for another 68.32km at Rs. 43.19 crore in the next few months.

I have to agree with the comment below me. In areas where it had completed the work, it had restored the road for 30.1km at Rs. 11.74 crore.

I can tell you that according to sources in the Coimbatore Corporation said that it was executing underground drainage pipeline in the East Zone for 223km and as on date, it had completed 118km

The residents want the corporation to relay the roads at the earliest or at least restore the roads to motorable condition before the onset of the South West Monsoon.

Well, the story is no different in Angalamman Layout where for the last six months the corporation had left the roads unattended, according to Mr Balu T who runs a motel there.

I agree with the comment below me about that road accident. Did you know that for people like him, falling off his moped also meant that the day’s business was lost. That is so sad.

The potholes and damaged portions of the roads had left road users with very little manoeuvrable space that the two-wheeler riders often end up losing balance or dashing against four-wheelers. I hope repair work is done soon.

I'm glad that i'm not the only one who has to face all these things. Can you believe it that there are no signboards announcing speed limit in localities off Trichy Road in the East Zone of the Coimbatore Corporation.
