Oh, yes. THat is right. THey have strictly asked the IMC to come up with a acion plan on the works that they will take up from the April to the December to make sure how they are going to progress.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has been unhappy, however, about the kind of progress made by the Indore Metropolitan Corporation and are suggesting better steps be taken to make sure the work is done.

Shockingly, if relying on an estimate there are over 4500 encroachments that are located at present in the 18 km stretch of land on the river bed. and divert sewage flow into the river from 468 places needs to be done.

Exactly. The reputation of the state is at stake here. So it is good that the governement is being very firece about it. The government has even come up with a deadline which is the December of this year.

This has to be done by the end of the year because the Simhastha kumbha mela is coming next year and if these rivers are not clean then the pilgrims will be disappointed and the government is not ready to let that happen.

You know this decision was taken during a meeting which was presided over by the district collector of the Indore region Mr. Akash Tripathi who had a hand in making these two teams operational and he gave them these tasks to work on.

Yes. The lands where encroachments have happened will be determined by the teams and they will make sure to issue notice to the owners of these illegal structures befor destroying them, actually. Also there is a time frame for this to be completed within.

There is some steady progress being made with the clean up of the khan river. I think this is goo. The concerned authorities has formed two different teams and has guided them to make sure that all the illegal buildings in the region on the shores of the river be demolished.
