When BBMP is collecting betterment charges for individual plots, are they eligible for A Khata?

According to M Shivaraju, the taxation and Finance Committee Chaiman, A khata could be issued to the properties, which have been converted for non-agricultural purposes. But, in case the property owner is a GPA holder than the khata cannot be issued.

The collection for betterment charges was about to start in the mid of this year, if I am not wrong. What is the rate they have fixed?

High Court had recently givem the BBMP green signal to collect the betterment charges.

BBMP is gooing to collect at the rate of Rs 200 per square metre in old areas and at the rate of Rs 250 per square metre in newly added areas.

According to sources, The taxation and Finance Committee Chaiman M Shivaraju said that they are expecting to generate about Rs 466.23 crores.

BBMP is all set to start collecting improvement fees in the city from properties which have got the land use changed to non- agricultural and will enable property owners to get their ‘A’ khata for their properties within the BBMP limit.
