The Delhi Development Authority, which was to launch the Housing Scheme 2018 in December, has now delayed it to February 2019. Under this scheme, the housing authority will offer fresh units instead of the surrendered flats as it did in previous schemes. However, only 20000 flats on offer, most of them would be 1 BHK meant for the economically weaker sections. The authority will offer only 10000 units in the first phase and rest of the units in second phase. The DDA will be building 20987 flats, out of which 16296 units are meant for the low-income group and 3624 homes meant for the economically-weaker section. The new houses will be built across Vasant Kunj, Dwarka, Narela, Rohini and Siraspur.
