Latest Answer: Mangalore witnessed a tremendous growth during 2011 in the residential realty segment. The increase has hit the realty sector no doubt but after that the growth remained stagnant in both residential and commercial segment.

Q: I am from Mangalore and it seems that we have to pay our water bill through smart card. What is a Smart Card? Can anyone tell me how this works?
Latest Answer: Smart card is just like a credit card in shape and size with the customer details. When you swipe the card a bill will be generated at stop billing machines. It is just like we use ATM cards.

Q: Why parking is banned in Mangalore? Which are the places were commuters cannot park their vehicles?
Latest Answer: It is said that as the BJP leader and the former minister L.K.Advani are coming for a meeting at Rajangana Ground. New route were implemented for both traffic and parking. Parking of all types of vehicles on either side of the road from Mangalore Airport to Circuit House junction has been banned and this continues till A.B Shetty to Kuntikana.

Q: There has been a hike in the water rate in Mangalore. What is the reason for the hike in rates for the supply of water? What is the government going to do about the situation?
Latest Answer: The people in Mangalore are in deep distress with the water supply, the Mangalore City Corporation is not suppling the water in a regular basis and it is creating a huge problem in the lives of the people to fulfil their daily needs, it is said that people who were paying Rs 65 now they have to pay Rs 200 for the consumption of 24,000 liters of water and those who are non- domestic consumer they have to pay Rs 500 instead of Rs 300 and for the commercial connection people have to pay Rs 1,100 for the consumption of 15,000 to 25,000 litres of water. BJP members said that still now they have not taking the final decisions about the increase in tarrif, still now these will be the tarrif and it may differ according to the government decision.
