Ghaziabad, in Uttar Pradesh, is fondly referred as the gateway to the state because anyone travelling from Delhi to Uttar Pradesh passes through this city. It’s in fact a part of the National Capital Territory of Delhi in addition to serving as the administrative headquarters of an Uttar Pradesh district of the same name.
Ghaziabad is located extremely close to the Hindon River. It’s also surrounded by historic areas like Meerut in the north, Bulandshahar and Gautambudh Nagar in the south and Delhi in the southwest.
Famed as an industrial city, Ghaziabad is seeing rapid development in infrastructure. The City Mayors Foundation survey adjudged Ghaziabad as the second-fastest growing city in the world. It is also an important educational center of western Uttar Pradesh that hosts reputed institutes in management, engineering and dental studies. The city, however, has various drawbacks such as high population and high crime rate.
The city has been witnessing the construction of a large number of malls and multiplexes. Various flyovers are adding to the infrastructure growth of the city.

Dynamic E-Governance Machinery
The need of the hour for all state machineries, ever since governance reforms took precedence, has been to introduce e-governance for its citizens. For this, a dedicated web portal is a necessity for different departments and/or agencies. The citizens of Ghaziabad, too, have access to various services online through multiple government websites. This is a step further towards making life more convenient for the city’s residents.
