Is buyer liable to pay VAT + Interest?

Q: Received letter from DB asking for VAT plus 15% interest. Is the interest amount is really liable to pay by the buyer?

Check this link too, VAT on Construction cost or agreement value whichever is lower.

So what do we do now that DB has sent a letter to collect vat which we are not liable for as their initial offer letter did not contain any VAT but just contained disclaimers on tax liability? The commissioner says it should be clearly mentioned in the link.

It is clear from the legal letter in the annexure that we have to pay. My question is the amount of VAT to be charged on underconstruction property is 2.5% for buyers who registrered in 2010. However, the demand is for 5% without any breakup of amount to be paid. Can someone help on how much of VAT is liable by which registration date. This will help in assessing how much really needs to be paid at the end of the month when they issue the demand letter.

Even I received the letter...but payment on VAT interest is still unclear. As they have mentioned that they MAY ask for interest depends on the court verdict.
