Q: I have received a mail from DLF team where they have requested to pay the Tax amount to DLF before 30th September.

I am just wondering if this has been requested from all the flat owners ?

I have also received the same. This is the first time I am hearing something like this. I have dealt with many builders in India and never paid anything like this. Do you know anyone has paid this amount? Is it legally allowed?

so guys, have you paid the amount? I too received the letter and I think they are trying to extract more money. I had checked with my friends who have booked with other builders and no one has asked for such money to be paid.

Hi Guys!!! What type of tax DLF is asking because as far as I know builder can ask for only service tax. So it is better you should go directly and talk with DLF.

VAT as applicable is to be paid by us I think .. But not in the manner they have drawn the notices. If you refer VAT guidelines it is payable only on the cost of the materials used for flat.(Service tax on the labour which is already paid by us). For the purpose land value is also excluded. Here they have sent notices for a huge sum of VAT TO DERIVE MAXIMUM BENEFIT. So also newly introduced TDS is applicable only if the sale value of the property exceeds Rs 50.00 lakhs and I do not know on what basis they have asked to pay the TDS on their behalf..
