Are there any health issues in this area?

Q: Are the residents of this and near by apartments like Mathru Sree Orchid, Rohan etc. facing any health problems due to Polluted Bellandur lake? It smells so bad there and I read that people in the near by areas are suffering from various skin diseases and respiratory system problems.

Bellandur is an important locality settled towards South-East of Bangalore. The region is highly known for the Bellandur Lake which is the largest lake in the Bangalore.

Advantages: The area is well developed and it is good for end use. The area is very close to offices like Prestige Teck Park, Insoft Technologies and many other business parks. Balladur is easily assessable by Sarjapur road, Outer Ring Road and Yemalur road. New Horizon Gurukul, Gear Innovative, Delhi Public School, Vibgjyor High International School which are some of the reputed schools within a radius of 5kms to 6 kms. You have nearby hospitals like: Dr. Levine Memorial Hospital, Yashomati Hospital, New Akshay Mallya Hospital, Dr. Sunny Medical Centre which are with 4kms to 5 kms radius.US Pizza, Grills and Gravy, Chatoree, Posh Palates, Palki's, Punjabi Times and Bakasur are some of the good restaurants in Bellandur.

Disadvantages:
a) Proper road are not there
b) During the peak time you can face traffic
c) Airport is very far from Bellandur
d) Encroachments problem is there
e) Mosquitoes are there

As a whole the area is good for staying and end use.

Yes recently started doing some google search around it and got to know the severity of the problem. There has been complete negligence by respective authorities. There has not be united effort by citizens as well. Some efforts have been there but those were in isolation by various groups. Not of mass scale or united one. Recently saw this that US based NGOs are engaging to address the issue http://www.sherwoodinstitute.org/bangalore/

As a citizen I am really scared to know how bad the future is looking. Lakes are dying and no water. I think we should act before it's late.

The Bellandur lake pollution problem started long back and till date there has been no solution for it. People staying near by the lake is facing lot of health hazards. Pollution board is not taking any kind of action to control effluents being discharged into the water. Moreover, the state pollution board, declares that the lake water is non-hazardous. :( :(
