Karnataka government approved phase-2 Bangalore Metro project
Q: Is it realy true that Karnatka Government has got approval for phase-2 Bangalore Metro Rail Project? How much it cost the Karnatka Government? What is the total length in kilometers in 2nd phase?
Once the metro phase-II is commissioned, the east-west corridor will emerge as a boon to the IT population of Bangalore, since most of the offices are situated in Whitefield. The present eastern side line-MG road to Baiyappanahalli will be lengthened to Whitefield.
In addition to it, a new line will be formed from the R V Road station on the north-south corridor to Bommasandra. This will be a significant aid to the IT employees in the Electronic City.
I agree with you Mr Utpal. The metro work in Chennai started much later and of the two proposed lines in Chennai, one is almost ready and will be open to public in another 4/5 months. This is not the case with Namma Metro. Very sad :P
I do not think they will be able to complete Phase 2 by 2019 because Banashankari- Majestic metro was supposed to have completed long time back. God only knows when its going to complete and ease us from traffic problems.
As per the latest information, Phase II of Namma Metro is expected to be completed by 2019. The metro construction work is going at a snail pace. :( :(
