Kovai Pudur locality review

Q: I’ve been in search of a locality in Coimbatore that would afford me some space and time to settle down. I was previously living in Hyderabad and you know how that city can take a toll on you. Heard about Kovai Pudur from my close friends. So I wanted a useful review that would help me decide.

Hey i dont know about the safety of this area. There have recently been cases of theft and robberies in this area. in shops and malls. You better be careful if you are taking up a place here.

Did you hear about the new road widening that was about to start in kovia Pudur? The road from Selvapuram to Kovai Pudur is being widened. I think this wil decrease the hassel of the traffic that gets stuck here during peak hours.

Hey the real estate market in this area is very up and down. It was 2300 per sq ft in 2012, and in 2013, it went up pretty high 3,300 and it went down again to 2700 per sq ft to 2014. It is very unstable.

So the price in Kovai Pudur right now is around 2,900 rupees per sq ft to 3,200 per sq ft. This rate is for the independent houses. The rate for apartments is around 2,600 per sqft . Thats is a little above the average of the city.

the area is primarily a residential area with some good parks like the bank of India colony park, Kovaipudur Children's park, Police Park and Police Children's Park etc in the locality. this locality is mostly constisting of individual houses now. but we can also see a rising trend in the construction of apartments as well as villas in this locality.

I am satisfied with social infrastructure in this region actually. but for shopping complexes and all you have to depend upon nearby towns though. in this residential locality, there are quite a few stores and other shops in the area such as the Nilgiris 1905, Chellam Fancy store, Trendzone Garments, Sri Sai Designers and many good bakeries are also there, famous among them are the 7 star bakes and KS bakery.

for the connectivity thing, i need to add some points more. Kovaipudur is the originating point of certain bus services of the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation. It connects various points in the city like Ganapathy, Thudiyalur, Podanur, Ukkadam, Press Colony, Srinivasa Nagar, Saibaba Colony, and Ondipudur. There was a road widening project undertaken here. That has made the transportation even more easier from this locality.

Yep, this locality has become a good residential locality, along with the schools and colleges, you can also see that there are good hospitals here. K.J. Hospital and Priya Hospital are two very popular hospitals here. Apart from this there are some clinics also like Health Plus Clinic and Shyam Vaidya Salai.

Basically what has happened is a classic case of groundwater depletion. the place expanded very fast and the authorities did little or nothing to expand on the civic ammenities. Because of this there is high demand but less supply.

Water problem can get very bad in kovaipudur and other parts of Coimbatore like Vadavalli and Ramanathapuram. The bore wells have got very polluted before and packaged water is super expensive plus the public taps for water are really far away. This is quite sad because Kovaipudur is actually a really nice locality!

Ok the water shortage situation during summer the situation is very bad. During other seasons, water quantity is actually in surplus. It is the fault of the civic authorities for not constructing more water bodies when they had the chance. Because of this, a lot of people have lesser quantities of water during the season when they need it the most.

The best place to live in Coimbatore, in my opinion. Ever since it has come under the Coimbatore City Corporation, Kovai Pudur is seeing a lot of development in social infrastructure. There is a quite famous police training academy here along with good schools and colleges. So if you have children you can just send them to any of the schools here, like CS Academy School, Western Ghats International School, RKV School, etc. The colleges of VLB Arts, VLB Engineering and Management, CBM College are also very famous here.

Well, your friends were quite right when they suggested Kovai Pudur. It is one of the best places to live in Coimbatore. Along with being having good climate throughout the year, this place is also quite developed. It is well connected with the rest of the city; Kovai Pudur is just 3km away from the Palakkad main road. The Ukkadam bus stand is just 6km away and Coimbatore junction is just 8km away from Kovai Pudur. If you are a family man, then you don’t need to worry about the education of your children as there are plenty of good schools in this area.

Yeah the climate and environment is so pleasant here, that sometimes we refer to it as “Little Ooty”. It is close to the NH 47 and is extremely well connected to the rest of the city. You can drive to RS Puram in 30 minutes and Gandhipuram in 35 minutes from this locality.
There are quite a number of good apartment projects in this area, like the Orchid, Thasami Sumeru, etc. You can go through the whole list yourself, just click on the link http://www.commonfloor.com/all-apartments-in-kovai-pudur/psl-xznk5c and enter any further requirements that you might have.

Yeah, Hyderabad can be a bit tedious. I lived there for a year once and it was very exhausting. You will find Coimbatore quite a pleasant change from that city. Kovai Pudur is located on the foothills of the Western Ghats, so the weather is pleasant all year round. The pollution from the rest of the city hasn’t affected this locality yet, so the air is quite healthy and clean. It has developed quite a bit over the past few years and is now home to quite a number of families.
