Q: Which area of Kochi is good to move in to want to setup an IT company? I will be moving with my family to Kochi.

This entire investment is worth Rs 240 cr. A project of this magnitude will affect the tourism industry of kochi, which always has an indirect affect on the real estate market. Commercial sector will be hugely affected. Since this hotel will be providing recreatinal facilities as well as hospatality services to their clients, the neighbouring IT companies will also benefit from this.

The locality will see lot of new projects, now that the Brigade group are also going to set up their hotel project on a 1 acre land here. This 4 star hotel will have around 150 to 200 rooms and will be quite close to the Kochi Infopark.

The 1st phase of the smart city will be ready by next year, and they are hoping to have constructed at least 70% of the total infrastrucutre works, like roads and all, by then. The other phases will be completed by 2020.

Also the SmartCity project is coming up here. I think I heard that it will be ready around July 2015. Soon it will create over 90000 new employment opportunities. Everything is on track as of now, since the project also got the environmental clearance recently.

I agree with the others. Kakkanad is a good location for an IT company. The locality is 5 kilometres from the nearest railway station, which is the Edappally Railway Station, and 25 kilometres from the airport. You can admit your children in schools like Dawn International School and, The Choice School, and it also has hospitals such as Anugraha Hospital and Cooperative Hospital.

Kakkanad is a good area to setup an IT business. There is very good infrastructure, and the connectivity to other parts of the city is also very good. The region has many quality medicine, and engineering educational institutions. Projects like Purva Skycondos Series 1, Heera Silicon City, and DD Golden Gate. If you are planning to buy a property in the Kakkanad area, prepare to pay around Rs. 3500 per sq.ft. If you prefer an independent house, you can buy plots for around Rs. 10,000 per sq.ft. These prices are bound to increase once the Kochi SmartCity and Kochi InfoPark become fully functional.

Yes, Kakkanad is the perfect place to set up your IT company. It is one of the fastest growing residential and commercial localities in Kochi. Kakkanad is a beautiful hilly region of Kochi. There is soon to be even more growth not only because of the SmartCity, but also because of the NH 47 being so close to the locality and the nearness of the Seaport-Airport Road. Kakkanad also offers good ground water and roads, as well as quality infrastructure. Kakkanad recently became the administrative headquarters of Ernakulam district.

One of the best areas for IT in Kochi is Kakkanad. Kakkanad is located in East Kochi, and is a big IT hub. There are plans to develop Kakkanad into one of the biggest IT/ITES centres in Kerala. Kakkanad already has the Kochi InfoPark which is the second largest IT park in Kerala, and the Kochi SmartCity which will soon be launched is a huge IT township. This, along with the Cochin Special Economic Zone, and Kochi InfoPark makes Kakkanad a hub of industrial activity. There are a lot of housing projects coming up in the Kakkanad region because of the tremendous growth that the locality is witnessing
