I think this project will benefit Indore massively. You can now travel from Indore to northern parts of Indore much quickly with the extension of this highway. This entire project will cost 6000 million dollars. The stretch that will be six laned is a 45 kms stretch, which will reduce the travel time.
Actually, yes there is a new road being constructed to reduce the traffic on the road that leads to the airport and to make it faster to travel from Indore city to the airport. The local administration have put in plans to develop a four land road from the Super Corridor to the Devi Ahilya Airport. The Super Corridor which is being promoted by the government as the next IT hub in Indore, will in the future be an important area in Indore. Currently there are only two lane roads from the Super Corridor to the airport, but the plan is to build a four land road.
This Indore-Dewas project is the six laning of the highway between Indore and Dewas. The project will be done by DLF Group and Gayathri Projects Limited, and the project will be completed either by end of 2014 or in 2015. The highway is part of NH-3 and stretches from Agra to Mumbai. The stretch that is to be six-laned from the 577 kms stretch to the 610 kms stretch. The project will be undertaken on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer manner.
