Q: I keep hearing that Sai Baba colony in Coimbatore is a great place to invest in. But then why do I keep reading about the bad civic issues the locality faces? Anyone has more information on this? Is it a good choice getting an apartment here?
Hey there's another problem i recently read about. Sai Baba colony's pathetic excuse for a burial ground! The near two acre plot off Mettupalayam Road appears more like a dump yard with footwear, domestic waste, debris and much more strewn around. Thorny bushes only complete the picture. This is very sad for the lower income groups living in Sai Baba Colony. they're the ones who actually use this site for a burial ground and they are upset with the fact that the place of final resting holiness has turned into some sort of garbage site. Problem was about 10 years ago, this was supposed to be converted to an electric crematorium for the Hindus. But that never happened and as a result, neglect has led into this scenario. Poorer people need to go all the way to Kavundampalayam to access a proper burial ground. This issue must also be fixed asap!
haha. I don't think anybody does. That underground drainage work i think really affected the residents of sai baba colony. Roads have been closed as a result, people had to take many diversions. The stink in the area was unbearable at some point but now thankfully it is much better. Lack of trees and greenery and lack of street lights are other problems of the area. I'm pretty sure the residents raised these concerns with the mayor and it should be rectified soon. I still suggest you go in for an apartment here because property value here will definitely see a rise in the coming future! :)
That's true! Recently we listed out all the faults of sai Baba Colony. Number one problem is the mosquito menace. this has been going on for a while now. A burst drain pipe or something was the cause of sewage and drain water to be leaking out onto the open streets. This was disgusting to look at or smell. What was worse was the mosquitoes that immediately accumalated in the area as a result of this. This is really unhygienic and gross and if something isn't done about this soon, diseases like malaria are going to spread across the city. We want all our underground drain pipes replaced so we want a good underground drainage network that doesn't cause problems like this in the future! Who the hell wants mosquitoes as everyday neighbours?
Very recently the residents of Vasantham Nagar at Venkittapuram in Sai Baba Colony planted plant sapling to increase the green cover in the locality. This was done with the presence of the Mayor who planted the first sapling. The reason for this was that for the past 5 years, Sai Baba Colony has actually been facing a number of civic problems and the residents really want this rectified. The saplings that were planted are for the residents to nurture and grow. The place looks dull and is lacking greenery. Apart from this even other issues of the locality were also discussed. But still I feel property value is high in Sai Baba Colony.
