Yeah this investment region is about 25 km south west from Indore. The entire region has great connectivity to Indore and other cities around the area such as Bhopal and even western India like Mumbai, Ahmedabad by important corridors such as NH 59 and NH 3. Knowledge City at Ujjain is also close by to this project and will also be beneficial for the people of Indore. The site is close to the Indore airport and it will connect it to other parts of the city. Railway links are also getting improved by Indore-Dahod broad-gauge link to the Dedicated Freight Corridor and Indore – Khandwa to south India. Seems like this project has a lot of potential but hopefully no developmental delays will take place as usual.
Hey yes! There will also be a Multimodial Logistic Hub in Pithampur. Land acquisition for this is currently going on. DMIC plans on providing warehouses, truck terminals, railway siding, container freight stations and so on. There is also going to be a 20.3 km economic corridor from the Indore airport to Pithampur. IT companies, non environment polluting companies and tourism and infrastructure is said to be developed on this corridor. All in all, when this project is completed, the high revenue and returns will be an added incentive from this project
The recently commissioned Narmada Kshipra project is supposed to be beneficial for the industrial base in Pithampur as the Narmada will be it's source of water supply for all those industries. But problem is these industries are not getting any water and as of today, many have shut down. Hopefully, this won't affect the interest of DMIC in this region because the main reason for them to invest here is because Pithampur is known for its strong industrial base. But The Narmada Valley Development Authority project is only said to be completed sometime between 2015 to 2016. I guess we'll only know then, how well this project is going to go.
I really like the sound of this project! So DMIC is looking to improve a particular strectch of land from Delhi to Mumbai which stretches along 1483 kms covering many states such as Maharasthra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat. The aim is create more connectivity among these regions because they have strong potential to grow and develop. The project is looking to provide state of the art infrastructure in some areas where economic potential is high, so that they become more independent and self reliant and even foreign investment will increase. Lots of scope for this project. Indore is sure to prosper as a result.
