Yes, you’ve heard right. This project is definitely coming up, and coming pretty soon as well! Imagine having a NIMZ here in Ramanathapuram. What a boost it will give to the real estate market around this place. Because obviously there will be more and more people coming here, thanks to the number of job opportunities that are going to open up here. I heard that the other projects include a 50 MW capacity solar power plant and a desalination plant, which can produce 15 million litres of desalinated water every day.

Actually yes! I recently came to know that our CM Smt. Jayalalithaa will be setting up a national investment and manufacturing zone here in the heart of Ramanathapuram, to give its economy a much required boost. You know, the NIMZ! There are a bunch of other developmental works on the hold too. The total budget for all these developmental works in Ramanathapuram is Rs 6526 crores. The project is going to be implemented under the Tamil Nadu Industrial development corporation (TIDCO).
