Electronics hub in Kochi

Q: Hey, what about the electronics hub that is being set up here in Kochi? Anybody has any further info on that? I wonder if that will affect the real estate market in the city.

Oh yeah, but this is not the same one as the KSIDC are going to set up. This one is going to be in Kakkanad, within Kinfra owned lands of 75 acres. This project is already generating a lot of interest from job hunters and potential investors.

I have some much fresher news about the electronics hub. I don’t know if you guys have heard, but the proposal made by Kinfra to set up a hub has already been approved by the department of electronic and IT.

Last I heard, the land acquisition process had already started after many deliberations of the Kerala conservations of paddy and wetlands act, 2008. But the government has decided to hand over the land to the KSIDC, as the land was lying idle for a long time, and also because this project will have a huge impact on the development of Kochi.

Yes I agree. The park has been proposed to be built in Amballur in Ernakulum. If you’re serious about this investment, then I would suggest you to go for the residential localities near Amballur. This will be a part of the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ).

So basically it will be a place for the major electronics companies to set up their units and offices in Kochi. Semiconductor companies are also included. I think this will be a good thing for the Kochi market, which is currently facing a kind of downside.

Definitely you should invest. I mean, just think of all the job opportunities that will be created with the operation of this hub. I guess people from other cities are also going to be flocking to get jobs here. If thats not good news for the real estate market, then I don’t know what is.

Hey yeah, I know a bit about that project. Its basically a zone for manufacturing of electronics good. And not just manufacturing, it will include research and development units as well.
