Many industrial areas were also affected as garages and SSIs found machines underwater. The MCC Commissioner has promised quick relief for now. But a long term solution is imperative!
The underground drainage system got blocked it seems. So sewage water entered houses via toilets. Yuck. Mysore City Corporation people rushed to the areas and syphoned away some of the flooded parts.
DId I read it correct? The temporary sheds for mahouts near the Palace also were flooded. Not a low lying area I thought. I wonder if the Corporation will take proper measures.
Will these authorities ever get some of the work done? At least the drainage repair on time? 15 odd houses flooded in one region alone. And the worst part is rain water mixed with drainage leaks.
Its basically because of lack of proper storm water drains. The people living in SBM Colony and Aravindanagar were miserable and complaining how improper drainage has forced water to gush into their homes
I pass through SBM Colony daily. And guess what, it doesn't even look the same. There are so many of these low lying areas near the Kuvempu Nagar zone na. No plans to manage during rain.
Yes yes! Hopeless you know! It was pouring cats and dogs at like 3 am. And no one realized the effect until the rain stopped at 6 30. It was all over the local news. This is when the negligence of civic authorities comes out
