Are private owners to benefit from government land acquisition?

Q: Hi there, I needed to know if the government acquires land from the people, what is the price for it in Indore? is there any new legislations regarding this? If there is, what is the process of land acquisition in Indore? Also how are private owners going to benefit from this?

hey guys, i want add some more info to it. if the project for which the land was needed is abandoned, then the land will not be returned to the private owner. instead, it will be the property of state government itself and will be used for any other upcoming projects or developments that will require land.

Hey, the acquisition process is done only in case the land is required for infrastructure and other development projects of state government. first of all, they have to locate suitable land inside the government land that is available. If it is not available, then they purchase it from the private parties with mutual concent. The market rate and the immovable asset's value will be given as rehabilitation grant to the seller.

Yes, recently in the cabinet meeting that was chaired by CM Shivraj Chauhan, they brought forward a policy that stated about the acquisition of private land for govt. projects through mutual understanding. This process is same in Indore as in the other MP districts. There was a news that the owner of the private land will get double the price of the land. But, i am not sure about this.

Exactly..the private owners are likely to get double the price for the land. But the calculation is like this: The price that the govt will pay will include the prevailing rates + the value of immovable assets in the land.
