Details about security issues in apartments in Kochi
Q: Hi there guys, I am from Trissur area. Now, recently took a new flat here. Earlier living in individual house. I dont know much about the security issues that happen in apartments, especially, in Kochi. What all security issues should i expect here, can you tell? What can I do for precaution and all.
Yeah security is always on priority when looking for a new home. As I have bought a 3BHK apartment near Marine Drive, Kochi ( Marina One) & I am sure that security here will be here top notch. They have guards at the gate & 3-4 guards patrolling all the society too.
Personal security has also to be taken care of. In an area like kochi, i think, even if there is a little threat, it is not as high as in other metropolitan cities. For making sure that everything is alright when you enter the building elevator, lobby, or car parking, etc, i think you will have to take a deliberate check yourself. Make sure you park your car in a well lit area also.
I think, not only our apartment is prone to danger from outside...even some difficult times come when there will be some hazards like that of fire hazard..for this fire exits, building compound walls etc can be helpful. but, the best thing in my opinion is the manual security especially from maintenance staffs and all.
exactly, doors are the burgler's first choice for entry. So, I also think that deadbolt locks are a must. Electronic Building entry system will also be helpful. I strongly suggest that you install a security system in the apartment. burgler alarm as well as CCTV is also recommended highly.
Hey, in my opinion, there are some ways by which we can secure our apartments from thefts and all. First of all, you need to know that the property criminals may be someone who lived in the residential project or have friends there. So, for securing your apartment from vandalism using security devices like deadbolt locks on doors, window locks, as well as wel lit spaces as well as cctv surveillance etc.
hey, but in my opinion, most of the apartments and flats are quite secure and safe than many individual houses out there. if you are planning to settle in Kochi, I think the safest option is to chose a good house or flat where security is given priority. However, you should be aware of, and periodically review the security and safety of your apartment.
In my opinion, the reduction of crime against persons who live in apartments and multi residential housing should be a priority of any law enforcing agency who are responsible for their protection. There have been instances in Kochi where some criminals prey specifically upon these apartments and such residential areas.
i dont think, the night patrolling is any adequate. Police always complain about the manpower shortage for tackling all these problems. There has also been an increase in the bike thefts and chain snatching in the city. But, I am aware of most bikes being recovered within a week or so, anyway.
Hey, but I think, from this year onwards patrolling is done in more strictly in most areas to check thefts. In some areas, combined night patrolling is also being done nowadays with the public support. I have heard that the police is also conducting awareness programme in association with residents association to check thefts.
this is a major issue in the cities, especially in kochi, there is a lot of house break-ins that are reported. You can also see pickpockets and also mobile/vehicle thiefs. In 2013, there were 330 thefts and 31 robbery cases that were reported. The city also witnessed 53 break-ins at night this year.
Hi there. in the case of Security, this is kind of dependable thing..but, you know, the security at homes and at appartments have been in the rising. Recently, in the news, there was an article that stated that nearly 37 cases of theft and robbery are reported each month. in 2012 the number was 35 only.
Hey, can you give me more information about the robbery issue that we discussed here. Also if possible, please mention some ways by which we can all ensure the safety of our apartments and houses.
