Q: I was wondering if i could get some information about the housing schemes being developed in Coimbatore. I am hoping to purchase a house under one of the schemes, so any information would be helpful.
It would be best if you check the details for yourself in the link mentioned here http://awhosena.in/project.php?locid=9&flag=scheme_open. This will provide you with comprehensive.details about the scheme, like the current status, prices, apartment specifications, location, builder details, and all other relevant details.
I think some details about the scheme would be really helpful for you. The residential houses in the scheme are supposed to come equipped with amenities like Community hall cum club house, swimming pool, convenient shopping, green parks with jogging tracks, power back up, gated community etc.
To be honest with you, i'm a bit worried about the project. As of 31st Dec 2014, the project was only completed at about 39.5 %, which is pretty less don't you think? This being a government scheme, such delays were expected, but it still makes me question my decision to invest in the project.
Hey, i'm one of the buyers for the scheme and have been keeping a close watch on the project status. According to the project website, the main reason behind delays in construction were some problems with the contractor. WIth the contractor issue now solved, the construction is expected to pick up pace, and complete without much hassles.
Another info that you might find relevent is that as of now, 60% cost of dwelling unit(DU) has been paid by the initial allottees. In the cases of some late allottees, second installment of 40% cost of DU has been sub divided into two equal installment each of 20 % cost of DU to match up the payment schedule of the late allottees with initial allottees. .
I wanted to tell you in case you are interested that the first due date for payment for the project for allotees has been postponed from January 2015, to June 2015. This is done keeping in mind, the delays that are happening in the completion of the project.
Yes, the scheme mentioned above is just for army officials, and that too for those who served under insurgent area. So it is a pretty specific category, the government is catering too. Anyways, the project has experienced many delays in the past few years, and keeps getting delayed.
I read in the newspaper that the project met with some roadblocks, and has thus been delayed. According to the official website, the project will now be completed by January 2016. Also the makers have assured that the project would be completed, and have no structural issues.
I just recently heard about a housing scheme called Army Welfare Housing Organisation. The scheme has been conceived with the aim of providing homes to those fighting and serving in insurgency areas and inhospitable terrain. So, i'm not sure if that is something you would be covered under, but i wanted to tell you about the program nonetheless.
