Hi all, As per official information, the entire project is envisaged as an integrated digital smart city. First smart city in Malta and have plans to start more such cities in various geographical locations.Companies can also avail many SEZ tax benefits, including 17 per cent reduction in the cost of construction.

Hi, Recently I have read the article in Newspaper that Kochi the Smart City project is all set for the Phase-I launch next month. The Phase-I roll out will bring into supply a total built-up area of 650,000 sft and a floor space of more than 100,000 sft.

Yes Himani , you are right that Smart city project in Kochi state rolling these days and With these, Kochi is all set to become a major IT hub in the country. The city is already home to Infopark, which is housing nearly 120 IT majors, employing more than 30,000 professionals.

Recently, i came across an article from which i came to know that there was an agreement signed by the government of Kerala and the Telecom Investments. Sharing because this might be helpful info for you. The project is expecting an investment of Rs. 5000 crores. The whole project with a built up area of around 8800000 square feet will generate 90000 IT jobs when it completes. This will also see a boom in the real estate sector of the nearby areas like Kakkanad, Edachira, Thengod, etc.

I have been following the smart city project and I came to know that they have already got the environmental clearance for the entire project. There are also talks going on lately for discussing the joint developments in the non-IT sector also.

Oh yeah...the first phase is about to finish in about mid of 2015 i guess. The water and power supply network, roads and bridges inside the IT park etc are being constructed now. I think that the construction of the Gems International School will also begin next year.

Exactly...In the first phase there will be these two buildings. The second IT Building will only require 5 acres. The project is looking to generate around 12000 to 140000 IT jobs in the first phase itself as far as i came to know.

There is huge development in this regard. I think that the long wait for the Smart City to be operational will end soon. I think that the construction of the First IT Complex with a built-up area of 6.5 lakh square feet is planned to be over by march next year.

I came to know that lately when there was a Director board meeting, the boar has approved Rs. 250 crore for the project. It has to be utilized before March 31st 2015. In this, i got to know that 100 crore will be for developing the infrastructure such as roads and bridges and 150 crore for the construction of the first IT building complex.

Yea..I think that the smart city authorities will start their work on the Second IT building that will have a built up area of 6.3 lakh square feet in a few months. The first building's work is almost completing.

Hi there, recently a news came from the smart city authorities that the first IT Building of the Smart City will become operational in June. This was after all the controversies and uncertainties that came for the project in a time of over a decade. June 2015 is the deadline for the first IT Building.
