Hi friends!!! What is the validity period of stamp paper purchased at Indore, MP? Is it possible to use stamp paper for any possible purpose now in year 2016, which was already purchased in year 2014?
Hi Sangyukta!!1 You can use this stamp paper as their is no validity period mentioned in Indian Stamp Act. A stamp paper can be used at any time after purchase of it, The Indian Stamp Act only fix a period to ge the refund of unused stamp papers i.e. six months from the date of purchase but it does not defines any where the time period for use of stamp paper.
Thanks Samrat!!! Does it mean if someone want to make a gift deed to relative and he/she transfers the required amount of money by cheque today and for executing the documents he can utilized the stamp paper which was purchased 2 yrs back? Is it not unethical that money is transferred by cheque today and stamp paper was purchased for this purpose 2 years back?
i have purchased stamp paper in the month of august 2015 for indemnity bond and affidavit bond for issued for duplicate share certificate 6 months passed so in this case that stamp paper is valid or not pl guide to me GOPAL 30/01/2016
Hi Abhishek, There is no validity period of stamp paper as per Indian stamp act. But it's better to take a fresh stamp paper while using for defined purposes. I am saying like that because in every 6 months or a yrs new amendment is added which will reflect on stamp paper, if you have stamp paper more than 2 yrs back please exchange from new one without cost from local offices.
