An official involved in this has also said that Traffic diversions have been proposed to ensure the smooth movement of vehicles till the completion of the bridge and the contractors have been asked to appoint traffic wardens for controlling traffic to keep it safe.

You know the Kolkatan company has grabbed the contract a lengthy competitive bidding on their part. Even the company has suggested that they will carry on with the work without disturbing the existing traffic situation. along the Go shree bridge area and the flyver area.

The flyover and the rail over bridge projct has been approved by the Union govenrment under plan works. The CPT too have found a company that will work on the project. They are a company called M/s GPT-GEO JV from Kolkata.

I heard from a close friend of mine that some mo,re land on the Vallarpadam side will also be used for the same purposes. The Port Trust are very hopeful that they will be able to finisht the work by deadline. But knowwing that our bureaucracy gets ahead of itself, I think this will take longer than expected.

So to put a stop to this traffic situation and to find a better solution to halt. Th trust has come up with plans to build the flyover in front of the Exit Gate No. 1 of the ICTT and the rail over bridge that could continue on the already existing Go Shree Bridge no.2 which leads Mulavukad and Vallarpadam Islands.

Yes. I read about it too. This project is expected to cost over Rs. 60 crores from inception to its end. The Port trust have also been optiisteic that this project will be completed by the May of 2016 which could immensely bring down the traffic.

You know the traffic near the Vallarpadam International Container Transshipment Terminal and the roads that lead to this place has been filled with a lot of traffic. So the Cochin Port Trust is expected to construct a flyover and a rail over bridge.
