details about kochi government seeking more time for pachalam rob
Q: Hi, i have to travel around the city a lot for work purposes, and heard about yet another delay with regards to the construction of the Pachalam Rail overbridge? Can someone confirm this news?
I must say that this constant delay on the construction of the pachalam rail overbridge is a really big embarrassment for the government, and is negatively affecting the real estate, and overall growth of the city in the whole.
The lawyers had said frequent closure of the railway gate at Pachalam was causing great difficulties to the residents. The Railways had offered to bear 50 per cent of the cost for the construction of an overbridge.
The directive to take up the construction of the ROB was issued on the petitions filed by a group of High Court lawyers residing at Pachalam seeking a directive for taking steps to complete the construction work immediately.
Well, the remaining work could not be completed due to an agitation. It was expected to be completed in another six months. Therefore, it needed six more months to complete the works. That sucks, right?
Did you know that the the government said that all foundations and structure work were complete. Deck slab work had been completed for five spans and the work of three spans was in progress. So i don't know what exactly led to this delay now.
I can totally understand your frustration, and trust me, i hope this rob is built soon. As far as your question goes the court had earlier directed the State government to take up the construction work of the overbridge and complete it within six months.
Yeah, i also was keeping a track on the latest developments, and found that the State government, a few days back sought to extend by six months the deadline given by the Kerala High Court for completing the construction of the proposed Pachalam rail overbridge (ROB).
