Q: Hello, What is with the government? I heard that they raised the tariff and that the high court issued a notice? What is happening here? Anybody care to tell me
I will tell you what the high court should take strict action against the company whose sole interest in to make huge profits by budrening the common man. ALso they must provide proper service if they are considering a tariff rise.
Yes, going by those figures of the profits of the company I think there is no real need for any hike. They simply want to make more money, I guess. THat is all the reason and that is why they are doing this.
According to chart of domestic and non-domestic consumers and unit consumption the income of company comes around Rs 10,039 crore and after adding meter charge, late fee, penalty, fixed charges total income of company come around Rs 10,215 crore. But the figures are different. It's like they are covering up some other losses with the hike.
When you add up the expenditure on salary, maintenance, distribution loss, expanse of commission and other such expenditure total expenditure of the company comes around Rs 10,081 crore, against this company claims to have income of just Rs 8,263 crore. They definitely are upto something. So they clearly are underqualirfied for the job,
In the petition, there are mentions of the company and its future action. They will supposedly purchase 17,805 million units of power for Rs 8,307 crore to meet demand for 2015-16, It alsi talks about a few more things.
PIL was very particular. As per documents submitted by the company before Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (MPERC), there is just 1.38% difference in expenditure of company compared to 2009, but the company has proposed hike of 27% on tariff.
Actually, yes. When you observe the minute details of all the expenditure incurred by the discom, consumers and income highlight. The big report submitted by the Discom shows some glaring irregularities. I think they should be punished for this.
You know the Power board is so evil I mean they have been claiming loss of over Rs 1,000 crore in operation, the discom has submitted a 165-page application before the MPERC seeking hike in power tariff. But the reality is different.
The whole issue was brought about by a PIL. The HC issued notices on a petition filed by social activist Kishor Kodwani challenging proposed hike in tariff on grounds that the company is manipulating details of income and expenditure.
Yes. THat is why the Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh high court (MPHC) on Friday issued notices to Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Ltd and the state government questioning the move. They were also given an ultimatum to reply back to this within 10 weeks.
So here's what exactly happened. The government along with the power distribution company decided to increase the power tariff in the Indore city region and the state by over 27 %. I mean that is some huge raise if yo ask me.
