The metro authority has not yet taken the loan from the Canara bank but it has taken some from the AFD over the past two of the union budget session in 2012-13 and 2013-14 sessions.
I think the loan situation has been fixed right now. The metro had achieved financial closure over a year ago, with Canara Bank promising Rs. 1,170 crore and French external lending agency AFD assuring an approximately Rs.1,500-crore loan for the project.
The KMRL has been put in a very bad position. It is unable to pay compensation to many land owners since only Rs.247 crore was allotted in 2014 State Budget, whereas a budget of Rs. 967 crore was sought by the developers of the project.
Does anybody know about the situation right now? Tjhe metro board is depending on a lot of funding and loans from many of the baning institutions to keep their neck above the water and complete the work. Hope this gets done well.
That could have been expected. The government is running through in severe financial crisis. Despite making announcements and allocations, There is no guarantee that the funds would come in. The project has already suffered due to shortage of fund. I think it will, some more.
This is great but some of the people associated with the metro project have been very cautious and have refused to pin theisr hopes on the budget allocations as they don't always work out as expected.
Hello. This is with addition to the Rs 470 crore that will be taken as loan from Ernakulam District Cooperative Bank. The district collector will work on this to complete negotiations with landowners and hand over the land in the remaining stretch for the work to progress.
You know the state government has allotted Rs. 940 crores for the metro project. Out of that allocated in the state budget, Rs 500 crore would be used for land acquisition while others will be used for the building process.
Some of the piling works have been progressing which are present along the barricaded stretch which is there between Manorama Junction and Janatha Junction on Sahodharan-Ayyappan Road. The DMRC Chief said so a few days back.
Hi. The preliminary works here will include relocation of railway quarters, shifting of utility and other services in the area. DMRC has already invited a tender for constructing buildings near railhat's about way marshalling yard for relocating quarters, so that's about it.
Right now the Metro authority said that they have started preliminary works at the land provided by the railways near Ernakulam south railway station and if the acquisition does not start they will be behiind schedule.
So this is one of the major stretches in the city and it is is not planned well the traffic could pile up. SO no construction has been started, of consequence to not increase the traffic situation.
You know, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is now expecting that the revenue authorities will be able to speed up the land acquisition process and works between Maharaja's College and Jos junction.
In flow of the cash which is some where around Rs. 1539 crores for the current fiscal year. This will help in working up on the progress of the project. It is from the stretch between Maharajah's college and Pettah.
Yes. The handlers' of the Kochi Metro: the Delhi Meto Rail COrporation are looking upto the union and state government budget for the completion of the metro works. The budget has been allocated and they are now expected to speedup the work.
