Q: Hi, i would like to know more about the developments in the land acquisition process for the Kochi metro. Can anyone give more information about this?
You know what..Even though the government assured to pay Rs. 52 lakh for the 32 cents of land owned by the firm on the north-end of MG Road, the textile group rejected the offer.
Oh yeah..i have recently heard that the district administration issued a notice to the textile group stating that they have to surrender around 32 cents of land by March 18. The district administration held several rounds of discussions with the textile group but they failed to arrive at a consensus.
I came to know that the district administration had fixed march 18 as the deadline for the seematti group to surrender its land for the Kochi Metro, they are yet to submit the necessary documents. i dont know if they have any plans to surrender the land.
yeah...I think that the proposal to offer the parking space is reasonable since the textile shop will be allocated reasonable space against the land that they surrender. Even now, the firm is yet to surrender the land.
I dont understand why is Seematti still holding on to the land. The KMRL even has proposed to the Seematti to provide free space under the pillars of the metro rail as the compensation in lieu of the land that Seematti surrenders. This is actually rejected by the textile group.
I think that the decision has been taken to forcefully acquire the land from Seematti company. The KMRL authorities took this decision after a meeting between its managing directors and the promoter of Seematti, who is Beena Kannan, failed to arrive at a consensus.
I think it has been some months of negotiation and failure to reach a deal. The KMRL had decided to acquire the land under provisions of the land acquisition act for the metro rail project.
Actually, You know, the talks between the Kochi Metro rail limited and the Seematti have been a failure. The Kochi Metro had decided to acquire 32 cents of land that is located at the end of the MG Road in Kochi. This land actually belongs to the Seematti textiles.
Hi, the land acquisition is in progress. Right now, the land acquisition from the Seematti is in a big challenging situation I think. The talks have failed in this regard. I think this has gone to the court for hearing.
Oh..Why is the land not given? Almost all the small scale shops and poor farmers have given up their land for the metro, why this company cant? What is the arguement put forward by them?
