But, when I enquired about this project in connection with the land acquisition, I came to know that the government had given permission to the Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) to acquire land directly for the metro project.
Exactly, I think this will help finalise the market price of land. This price will have to be approved by a district-level committee. Only if there is any dispute, it will be sent for review by the state-level committee. The owners will get 80 per cent of the price when the land is handed over.
Yeah...As far as I came to know, the base price of land will be determined by taking the average of the last 10 land transactions in the area where land has to be acquired. After this, talks will be held with landowners.
Recently, in the news, I came to know that the government had issued a notification in December to acquire 100 acres of land for the park. Now the process will speed up since it has been decided to acquire land as per the Kochi Metro model.
I came to know that the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) will take steps to get the permissions needed as per the Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act, Coastal Regulation Zone Act and the Environment Protection Act.
You know what..the The fair value of land in the area is Rs 1.35 lakh per are( 1 are = 2.47 cents). According to simple calculation, the land value alone for 100 acres will be around Rs 50 lakh. I want to know, if the government is ready to pay the whole amount to the people here..
I dont think there are any official communication about the rehabilitation of the people. As per a rough estimate, I came to know that the land under survey numbers 289 to 351 fall under Wetland category. In all likelihood survey number 328-which is residential plot will be excluded.
Earlier there were reports that 400 acres will be acquired for the project, then it was reduced to 300 and 180 acres. Finally, now it is said that only 100 acres will acquired. If only this much land is needed then I think that the 10 families who live on the project site should be rehabilitated.
What about the paddy fields and all there. I think that the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) will take steps to get the permissions needed under the Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act, Coastal Regulation Zone Act and the Environment Protection Act.
As per government’s latest decision, the District Collector will initiate steps to buy land for the Electronic Park project according to the guidelines that were laid for negotiating purchase price while acquiring land for Kochi Metro. The revenue department will issue an order with the necessary amendments for this purpose.
Now I think only 10 families reside in this area and in order to move around you need to rely on a canoe. The only road that connects the place to the main road is made up of mud. The people here are very eager to give up their lands for the project if they are compensated decently.
Amballoor is located about 25 km from Ernakulam city. It is located along the Ernakulam - Thalayolaparambu main road. The site for the proposed project is a marshy area full of weeds and coconut palms. In some places the growth of the weeds is so dense that it is impossible to traverse the area earmarked for the project.
As far as I came to know, for completing the 'Digital Kerala' project in a time-bound manner, District Collectors, department heads and heads of Local Self-Government Bodies would be instructed to take necessary steps to give sanctions to service providers who have been allowed Right of Way (ROW) for laying optical fibre and for installing mobile towers in government premises and offices.
Actually, you know, It was decided to expedite steps for declaring Kerala as the first Digital State in the country. I guess,  it has also been decided to provide Rs 67.50 lakh for the purpose from the current fund for the project.
I think that Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation will be entrusted to secure approvals, which will be done by adhering to stipulations in the Conservation of Paddy and Wetland Law,Coastal Regulation Zone and Environment laws.
Oh yes..as for now, i think the government has shortlisted the Ambaloor region in Ernakulam district to set up the Electronic Hardware park. District Collector will initiate steps to buy land for this project in accordance with the guidelines issued for buying land for Kochi Metro project, based on negotiable purchase.
You know, the government has proposed for the building of an electronic hardware park in Kochi. Earlier, the Kerala cabinet today decided to acquire 100 acres of land for setting up an Electronic Hardware Park in Ernakuam district.
