I have garden flat means open space attached with my flat of 261 square feet and society wants to charge maintenance and they passed this in our meeting. I wanted to know can society legally charge additional maintenance for open space or garden flats ?
Hi Rishi, On which ground you are saying that Apartment Association is asking for unfair maintenance charges? What are the new charges charged by the Apartment Association I would like to tell you that there is no maintenance fee difference between the higher SFT and lower SFT apartment owners. This is done to reduce finance complications for the Apartment Association.
Hi Rishi and Gauri, I am clarifying it why there is a difference between lower SFT and Smaller SFT. Due to the lack of space in metropolitan cities, this system is not followed and apartment complexes are constructed with a cluster of variations as 12/3/4 BHK flats. This makes the process of maintenance fee collection much complicated and LIG/MIG/HIG kind of system does not work for the modern apartment complexes and modern life style, especially in metropolitan cities.
