I have bought house in 2003 for 3 lac.I wanted to get registry.What will be the stamp duty. Will it be asp today Price?

Q: I have bought a house from housing board under the govt. lottery scheme. I wanted to get registry for it so, that i can do further construction. So, what will be stamp duty. Will it be considered on that time Bought price as I am the first owner or will it be done as per the today market Price

Yes, in Alwar, you have to pay 5% as Stamp Duty and 1% as a Registration Charge. Apart from stamp duty and property registration charges, cess, and surcharges also have to pay when you pick a property.

Hello Subham,
Stamp duty is calculated on the higher value, between the ready reckoner rate (circle rate) and the agreement value of the property. But it also depends on the age of the property. And old property attracts less stamp duty while the current property with a higher rate of stamp duty.

Yes, I agreed with Shubham. The age of the property plays a crucial role in determining the stamp duty charges you will be required to pay. As stamp duty charges are calculated as a percentage of the total market value of the property, old buildings usually attract less stamp duty charges and new buildings attract a high charge. This is because the market value of old buildings would have depreciated.
