Q:Hi, I'm Rajeev. I work as a city planner. I'm concerned about the lack of infrastructure in most of the localities in Coimbatore. But I am particularly interested with the shape of things in one the most prime localities in Coimbatore, namely, Singanallur. Are the administration in Singanallur taking any effective steps to tackle the heavy traffic congestion and water woes that hamper the everyday life of it's residents?
Latest Answer: Hey Rajeev. That's a good question. Dealing with such issues has always
been on the government's agenda, in the past as well. However, their
plans take their own sweet time to unravel. However, there seems to be a
solution to solve the water crisis in Singanallur and the areas in and
around it, such as Varadharajapura. The Corporation Corp plans to finish
the work on the pipeline that runs from the main reservoir in Ganapathy
to the water tanks of Peelamedu, Avarampalayam and other areas. This in
turn will increase the water supply of Singanallur. So there are a few
efforts being made. I also heard they were planning to widen the roads
in Singanallur. But we can't be certain until these projects are
actually complete.
