Q: As a follow up to the workshops on Urban Farming conducted at Palava World City, the budding gardeners voted for the best plants from the Group. Ajay Choudhary of Regalia, Casa Bella, Palava City won the best gardener award for his homegrown vegetables ladies fingers and chilies. He won an advanced organic farming workshop course with leading organic farming group ‘Green Souls’.



Ajay has this to say about how the workshops not only helped his family grow plants but also bond better: “I feel delighted after winning. My children and I have nurtured and grown these plants together and winning a prize has boosted our interest in this topic. Nowadays most families tend to stay at home and watch television or play games and don’t go out & enjoy outdoors as we used to when we were kids. Initiatives like the Palava Urban Farming Club is a great way to explore new things to do and it also a great way to connect and socialize with the community. We really appreciate the initiative.

Q: The residents of Palava World City are holding a series of sessions on growing veggies and herbs at home. The third session on Urban Farming was held on July 26th. The theme was ‘Kitchen Gardening 101’. These sessions helps attendees not only save on the ever escalating prices of vegetables but also ensure getting organic and pesticide free produce.



It was conducted at the Casa Bella clubhouse and saw the community further learn the benefits of certain vegetables. Drumsticks, for instance, are high in calcium, antioxidants and are natural decongestants. On display were a variety of homegrown plants like mint, drumsticks and spinach.



Community members also voted for the best plants from the group. Ajay Choudhari won the best gardener award for his homegrown vegetables ladies fingers and chilies. He won an advanced organic farming workshop course with leading organic farming group ‘Green Souls’.



The session culminated with the formation of Palava’s Urban Farming Club and committee members volunteering to run the club. Members are currently planning their first community farm visit to Kharghar in August.

Q: The joy of watching your own handmade plane fly is truly unmatchable. That’s exactly what Palava's Aeromodelling workshop was all about.


Palava residents had a hands-on experience of making models of miniature planes and learnt the basics of aerodynamics during an interactive workshop on aeromodelling. Held on 5 July as part of Palava’s Art & Literature club initiative, over 130 residents enthusiastically participated in the workshop conducted by Super Sonic Aeromodellers which included cutting and making aeroplane models.
