Planning to purchase a flat in JP Nagar

Q: I am planning to purchase a flat in JP Nagar, bangalore. The builder says that he has got BBMP approval and the site is under A Khata. Also he said he has paid betterment charges to BBMP towards conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural. However, my lawyer says that payment of betterment charges is not enough and he needs to have a conversion order from BBMP for conversion of agricultural to non-agricultural, which he does not have. Is it ok to go ahead or no?

OK. I am checking with another lawyer and seems like there is a high court order pertaining to this, I'm yet to receive that. Will let you know. The project has been cleared by Axis bank, while for other banks the legal verification is in progress. Need to wait and see.

Hi Rajasekhar, NOC for conversion of agricultural to non-agricultural is very much required and it is mandatory to get permission for construction of a house.
