Garbage collection in Indore

Q: Have the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) started to collect door-to-door garbage like they promised?

No, it seems like they haven't started the garbage collection like they promised. Indore does not have a proper garbage collection system and even there is no proper drainage system also. The IMC have previously introduced garbage schemes in 2011 and 2013 which did not quite become successful. Even this year they introduced a pilot project in the Palasia area. The residents of the city have complained so many times to the authorities, but to no avail. The Madhya Pradesh High Court also ordered the civic body to find some solutions for the garbage problem, but there is not much being done.

Yeah, there is not much change in the garbage situation. The only solution for us is to dump garbage into empty plots, which is not very hygienic for residents of the locality. The IMC's plan was to use small vehicles and hand carts to collect garbage from door to door. They also tried to partner with a private company to dispose garbage, but no company came forward to take up the project. The sewage lines in many areas of the city are also blocked, which causes a bad stench in the areas. The IMC must do something immediately because they are testing the patience of Indore's residents.
