Q: Hi, I have heard many issues about water problem of shortage and pollution in the locality of Nagole in Hyderabad. Can anyone give me some inputs on this? Thank you.
I agree with you, it is the Water Board to blame at any cost, as the STPs installed have not been effective at all as the one at Nagole has extremely low capacity, and one is even dysfunctional. Additionally, out of about 18 major drains, some of the local drains spew raw sewage from many surrounding colonies directly into the Musi river. The Andhra Pradesh High court did issue a direct order to the state government of hyderabad to alternatively check the discharge of sewahe water into the river but this was never done.
hello, it is true that Nagole locality is facing some major civic issues at present. This is mostly happening because of the failure of a 722 crore project for the Musi river front. There were 5 STPs to be installed as per the project, out of which three at Attapur, Nagole and Amberpet major ones were not functioning efficiently. This led to sewage water entering the river and untreated water being sent to household. This is mainly because of the negligence of the Water Board as they have not commissioned the STPs at different areas to improve the water quality.
